Which supplement store works out cheapest
The short answer. Zumub is the cheapest of the 16 compared: in a typical category it sits 55 % below the market median, with 190 products in 19 measurable categories. The dearest is Holland & Barrett, 61 % above. None wins at everything: the table shows in how many categories each is below and above.
Catalogues cannot be added up: one store sells kilos of protein and another omega 3 capsules. What can be compared is where each one sits within each category, as a percentage of the market median. The index in this table is the median of those positions, which is why it can be read from top to bottom.
† Some links are affiliate links — they do not change the ranking
Some store links are affiliate links: if you buy through them, this site may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. It changes nothing in the ranking: the score is computed beforehand and without reading those links, and products with no affiliate programme appear exactly the same. How it is calculated.

The index is not a discount. It says where that store’s median sits within each category, not what you will pay for a specific product: a store that is dear overall can have the cheapest tub in a category, and that happens often. For buying, the category tables rule; this page is for choosing where to start looking. Left out: Sotya, 226ERS, Crown Sport Nutrition. They have products in too few categories and their median cannot be compared with anything.

Questions about the stores
Answered with the data on this page
- Which supplement store is cheapest?
- Zumub: in a typical category its median sits 55 % below the market’s, measured over 19 categories where it has at least three products. At the other end is Holland & Barrett, 61 % above. Cheap is not the same as good: the table also shows how many products publish a lab report at each store.
- How is the price index calculated?
- In each category the store’s median is compared with the median of the whole market compared here, in that category’s unit (euros per kilo or per capsule). That gives a unitless percentage, and the index is the median of those percentages. Only categories where the store has three or more products count, so that a single deal cannot move a whole store’s index.
- Why not add up each store’s prices?
- Because a catalogue is not a basket: it is kilos of powder and capsules, and adding them gives a number that means nothing. Besides, a store that only sells creatine would look cheap next to one that sells everything. The index compares each category with its own, which is the only way the comparison is fair across different catalogues.
